Kyle Vazquez returns to the Sioux Falls Canaries in 2014 after going 3-5 last season with 58 strikeouts in 72 1/3 innings. His best stretch of baseball last season came in June, allowing just four earned runs while striking out 16 batters over 15 1/3 innings.
Prior to last season, Vazquez spent four seasons in the Giants organization, splitting time as both a starter and reliever. He threw exclusively as a relief pitcher with Class A Augusta in 2012, going 5-4 with a 4.94 ERA and nine saves.
The Berlin, Connecticut native played collegiately at Franklin Pierce University where he posted a career 14-10 record with a 5.02 ERA and 133 strikeouts in 170 1/3 innings pitched.
