A third-baseman from Southern New Hampshire University, Toland joins the Silver Knights for his first season this year. During his freshman season with the Penmen in 2012, he appeared in 49 games, starting 47, and batted .238 with 15 RBI's.
As a sophomore this past season, the Wildwood Crest, New Jersey native appeared in 27 games and finished the year with one home run and seven RBI’s. He earned a .270 slugging percentage and had a .931 fielding percentage with six double plays on the season.
Toland’s favorite player is Chase Utley. He uses a Wilson model glove and his go-to pre-game meal is a turkey and cheese sandwich. He said his funniest baseball related memory was getting knocked out by a 90 mph fastball.
Toland’s favorite moment of his collegiate career so far was making it to the Division II College World Series this past season with the SNHU Penmen. If he could pick one actor to play him in a movie, he’d put Paul Walker up for the part.
