High School: Played four seasons of prep baseball at Eastern High School. Earned First Team All-State honors and First Team All-Region accolades as a senior. Two-time East-West All-Star selection and two-time All-District honoree. As a senior, hit .341 with 23 RBI, seven doubles and 33 runs scored, while on the mound ,was 11-1 with a 1.70 ERA and 80 strikeouts. As a junior, hit .336 with two home runs, nine doubles, 31 RBI and 30 runs scored at the plate, while going 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA on the mound. Graduated as Valedictorian of senior class at Eastern. Named to EHS Honor Roll all four years of prep career. Also earned two letters in basketball as a forward/center and one letter in cross country at Eastern.Personal: Born Jonah Smith Philley on April 8, 1994 in Louisville. Son of Jennifer and Dave Philley. Has two brothers, Jake and Calvin, and one sister Jordan. Majoring in business at UofL. Biggest thrill in sports was beating Ballard in the bottom of the seventh in a regional semifinal. After college, he wants to have a career in business and accounting. People with the greatest influence on his athletic career are his parents because they taught him how to push himself and strive to be successful.
