Panciera picked up the first wins of his career in his sophomore campaign, going 3-3 in 8 starts with a 6.35 ERA. Pitching 39.2 innings this past year, Panciera walked 31 batters, only struck out 17 and opponents hit .250 against the left-hander.
Last summer, Panciera played summer baseball with the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. He went 0-1 with a 7.83 ERA in 7 appearances. He struck out 7 batters in 10.1 innings of work.
As a freshman in 2012, Panciera made just 9 appearances and throwing 7 innings, recording an 11.57 ERA and striking out four batters.
In his senior season at East Catholic High School, Panciera earned All-State honors as East Catholic was the runner-ups to the state champions. His father, Mike, was a four-year player at UConn and his grandfather, Larry, coached the Huskies from 1962-1979.
