Campbell has been one of the most prolific offensive players for the Hawks over the past two seasons, proving that with a 38 game on-base streak in 2013. He started all 53 games, leading the team in runs with 31, doubles with 15, total bases with 74, walks with 27 and an on-base percentage of .432.
As a sophomore, Campbell batted .302 in 53 games (52 starts) with a team-leading 21 extra-base hits. Highlighting his 2012 season was a stretch of 34 games in which Campbell reached base in each game.
Last summer, Campbell played for the Sherrill Silversmiths of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. He was named first-team all-NYCBL as well as the #22 prospect after an offensive outburst of a summer with a .379 batting average, 8 home runs and 44 RBI.
Prior to UMES, Campbell led the baseball team in batting average, home runs, RBI, stolen bases, and hits in his senior season. He also broke the McDonough High School record for batting average and home runs in a career.
