Keith Brachold joins the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in 2013 after a breakout season that saw the power hitter earn a selection to the Can-Am League All-Star team as a member of the Rockland Boulders. Brachold batted .259 with 18 doubles, two triples, 29 home runs, 84 RBIs and 80 runs scored in 99 games for the Boulders last season. He led the Can-Am League in home runs, RBIs, runs scored, total bases (210) and extra-base hits (49). Entering his eighth season in professional baseball, the veteran has had success at multiple stops throughout the independent-league level. In 2008, Brachold hit .319, the first time he batted above .300 in his career at Amarillo. He also hit current career-high marks in doubles (23) and runs scored (92), while also picking up an impressive 108 hits in 339 at-bats. In 2011, Brachold hit a whopping .334 in 91 games, with 119 hits, 80 RBIs, 18 home runs and 22 doubles while with Brockton. Acquired by the RedHawks in a four-player deal this offseason, Fargo-Moorhead hopes Brachold continues the hitting tear he’s been on the last two seasons. With a combined 47 home runs and 164 RBIs in 2011 and 2012, Brachold could play a major role in the heart of the ‘Hawks order in 2013.
