A 6’5”, 215 lb. right-handed pitcher, Pivetta is completing his 2nd year at New Mexico Junior College where he amassed a 4-1 record and a 4.83 ERA in 12 starts as a freshman. He recently signed a letter of intent to play at the University of New Mexico under full scholarship in September 2013. Pivetta is a Victoria native and played for the Victoria Eagles and coach Gautam Srivistava in the Eagles inaugural 2010 season and again in 2011. In 2010, he received an honourable mention in the “Perfect Game” pre-Season All-America Underclass High School Awards. He is currently ranked 11th by the Canadian Baseball Network among 2013 Major League Baseball draft prospects from Canada and 3rd by Perfect Game in their list of Top Junior College Prospects. Pivetta was a member of the Canadian Junior National Team (U18) for three summers from 2009 through 2011 and pitched for the Canadian Junior National Team at the 2010 World Junior Baseball Championships. He competed for Team Canada in the Cuba Summer Series on two occasions (2009, 2011) and won a Gold Medal at the 2009 and 2010 Canada Cup with Team British Columbia.
