Versatile infielder Jose Cuas will join University of Maryland classmate Kevin Martir in the Berkshires looking to add depth to the infielder this summer.
Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., Cuas appeared in 45 games in his first collegiate season and finished with 22 hits and 16 runs, adding four doubles, a triple and a home run to drive in 17 runs as a rookie. Cuas made just three errors in the infield this spring, finishing with an impressive .977 fielding percentage.
A four-year letterwinner at the Brooklyn, N.Y., School, Cuas helped the Wolves win the 2012 city championship and was a 2012 all-city selection. He finished his senior season ranked No. 21 overall in New York.
The son of Jose and Belkys Cuas, Jose plans to major in criminal justice and was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 40th round of the 2012 MLB Draft.
