California native Brad Anderson of Pepperdine will make the trek across the country and join the SteepleCats for the 2013 campaign.
Seeing time off the bench and with the potential to play first base, Anderson has batted .273 in 16 games – nine starts – for the Waves in his first collegiate season. The Yorba Linda, Calif., native has scored two runs and poked three doubles for three RBI and a .364 slugging percentage this year, as Pepperdine looks to lock up a berth in the West Coast Conference Tournament in late May.
Anderson graduated from Esperanza High School in 2012 and capped off his career with a .444 average during his senior season, capturing MVP of the Century League and first-team all-league and all-country honors.
The son of Bob and Melissa Anderson, Brad has one sister and chose Pepperdine because of the baseball and academic programs.
