A transfer from Virginia Tech, Scott was forced to sit out the 2012 season due to NCAA transfer rules. While he was at Virginia Tech, he was redshirted in 2011. He played his high school ball at Crown Point High where he was a two-time First team All-Indiana selection. He finished his senior season with a .430 batting average and three home runs. Scott holds the school’s all-time record for hits, at bats, runs and RBI.
One of the consistent hitters for the Hoosiers, Scott belted the ball at a .358 clip over 65 games this year. His 86 hits included 16 doubles, two triples and five home runs. Knocking in 61 runs, his slugging average of .504 and his on-base percentage was .413
