Clemens spent last year as Sugar Land’s primary catcher. In 2013, the Houston native ranked fifth among Atlantic League hitters with 21 home runs and led the Skeeters with 60 RBI on the season.
In 2012, he made history by catching his father, seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, for one game (Sept. 7). The pair become the first father-son battery in professional baseball history.
In 2009, he hit .345 with 22 home runs and 121 RBI for the Lancaster JetHawks (Class A Advanced) of the California League while with the Astros organization.
Drafted by the Houston Astros in the eighth round of the June 2005 Draft out of Memorial High School (Houston), Clemens owns a career .259 (787x3040) average with 124 homers and 517 RBI over nine minor league seasons.
