Ethan Opsahl returns to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in 2013 after making great contributions in his small amount of time with the club in 2012. Signed in August last season, Opsahl provided another lively arm primarily out of the bullpen, in a late-stretch run that saw the team finish a league-best 65-35 during the regular season.
Opsahl was was 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA in eight games (one start). He pitched 19.1 innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on 16 hits. Opsahl recorded 11 strikeouts, walked five batters and was tough on lefties allowing opponents to hit a .158 batting average off him on that side of the plate.
A local product out of Twin Valley, Minn., Opsahl completed his collegiate career at Dakota Wesleyan University (SD) in the spring of 2012. Fargo-Moorhead will look to him to help bolster pitching depth, after a season which saw the ‘Hawks with the top team ERA in the American Association.
