Rey was traded to the Windy City ThunderBolts on June 11th, 2013. This is his second year year in the Frontier League playing for his third different team (Slammers, Grizzlies). In 2012 Cotilla also appeared in six games for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings in the North American League. Cotilla was drafted out of high school by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but attended Miami Dade South Community College before transferring to North Carolina State University. His senior year he appeared in 14 games putting up an ERA 3.60 striking out 15 and walking seven. Rey was also drafted in the MLB Amateur Drafts of 2008 and 2009, first by Kansas City and a year later by Milwaukee.
