Chase Greening comes to the Pump Jacks from Stephen F. Austin State University, joining collegiate teammate Cameron Gann on the Jacks roster.
A right-handed pitcher, Greening makes his Jacks debut after leading the Lumberjacks’ staff with 82.1 innings pitched, compiling a 5-7 record and a 4.92 ERA this spring. His finest moment was a complete game shutout against McNeese State in mid-April.
Prior to his SFA experience, Greening pitched two stellar seasons at Angelina College, going 17-7 as a starter, including a 10-2 mark in his second year with a 2.69 ERA. He recorded 63 strikeouts against just eight walks in a team-high 69 innings that season as well.
The Lufkin, Texas native was honorable mention All-State in his senior year at Lufkin High School, and was part of the Panther team that went to the state title game in 2009.
