Ted Obregon spent his first five professional season in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He started in the Venezuelan Summer League in 2007 and finished the year in the Dominican Summer League. Obregon spent all of 2008 in the Gulf Coast League (rookie class) and all of 2009 with the Appalachian League's Johnson City Cardinals (rookie class). Obregon played for two teams in 2010, starting with Quad Cities in the Midwest League (class A) and finishing with the Palm Beach Cardinals in the Florida State League (advanced A). The speedy middle infielder spent all of 2011 in Palm Beach as well.
Last season, Obregon latched onto Rockford shortly after the season began and turned into a solid top-of-the-lineup guy. He hit .286 with two home runs, 19 RBIs, walked 25 times and stole 26 bases.
Obregon is classified as Experienced for 2013.
