One of 4 Texas A&M Aggies to suit up for the Pump Jacks this summer, Ray is a tall right-handed pitcher who is coming off a solid freshman campaign this spring.
The Spring, Texas native made 12 appearances for Texas A&M, including 3 starts, posting a 3.52 ERA and a 2-0 record on the mound in 30.2 innings pitched, helping the Aggies back to the NCAA Tournament.
At Klein High School, he helped lead his team to back-to-back state tournament appearances, including a 2010 state runner-up finish as well as a #29 national ranking by MaxPreps that year. Perfect Game and Rawlings selected Ray a pre-season all-Texas Region performer in 2011, and the senior hurler didn’t disappoint. He posted a 9-3 record on the mound, adding a .358 batting average to earn all-district honors. In 2010, as a junior, he went 5-1 with a 3.28 ERA, striking out 59 hitters in 42.2 innings.
