#916 Trey Nielsen - Player Profile

Trey Nielsen joins us in Mankato coming all the way from the University of Utah.  In 2012, Nielsen recorded 50 hits, with 16 doubles, and 2 homers for the Utes.  In 2011 he was named the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American and second team all-MWC at third base. In 2010, the Chicago Cubs drafted Nielsen out of high school in the 42nd round.  His father was also quite the ball player for he pitched for Brigham Young University and played 4 years of professional baseball.  Trey is majoring in Mass Communications.
