The Pump Jacks are delighted to welcome the versatile Bickerstaff back to the squad after a 2011 campaign in East Texas. The Mineola, Texas native started last season on a roll, with four multi-hit games in the first seven contests of the year. Playing in only 27 games, Bickerstaff was fifth on the team in RBI with 20.
Bickerstaff played the 2012 season as a member of Howard College playing infield, outfield and catcher, his 2011 position with the Pump Jacks. Bickerstaff had an impressive freshman season at Howard. The freshman was among the team leaders with a .356 batting average, 5 home runs, 19 doubles, 46 runs scored, 52 RBI, and a .451 on-base percentage in 53 games for the Hawks. A star at Mineola High School, Bickerstaff was named All-State three times. During his senior season, Bickerstaff hit .542 with 14 home runs, 26 RBI, and 17 stolen bases. The highlight of his career was a perfect game against Arlington Punteyo High School in which he record 19 strikeouts and hit two home runs.
