After earning the starting first basemen position in 2011 for the Pump Jacks, Girouard is back this season to help a strong top of the order. Last year, the Lafayette, La. native was among the Pump Jacks leaders with a .308 average and 26 RBI. Girouard went through a stretch in the middle of the season where he hit safely in 17 straight games. In 2012, the infielder was 3rd on the Louisiana-Lafayette roster with a .298 batting average, playing in 41 games. The redshirt-freshman had 7 doubles and 20 RBI for the Rajin’ Cajuns. Girouard attended Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette where he was a second team MaxPreps.com Medium School All-American and Louisiana's Class 4A Player of the Year. During his senior season, Girouard went 4-for-5 in the state championship game with a pair of 3-run home runs and 2 doubles leading the Rebels to the state title.
