In his debut season with Central Michigan in 2012 Lally emerged as a dependable defensive second baseman, hitting .216 and fielding .919. Prior to becoming a Chippewa, he was a two-year starter at Prairie State College. In his second season in 2011 he was First-Team All-Conference and Second-Team All-Region with a .341 average, five home runs, and 47 RBIs. In his freshmen season in 2010 he was a Second-Team All-Conference selection, registering a .374 average with eight home runs and 51 RBIs. Lally’s biggest high school achievement was being named an All-Chicago Catholic League honoree.
