In 2012 Marzi was the backbone of a scrappy Connecticut starting rotation, giving the Huskies a chance to win every time he took the mound. This year he posted a 2.55 ERA and 64 strikeouts over the course of 98.2 innings. Before excelling as a starter in 2012 for Connecticut, Marzi began his collegiate career last season as a quality reliever for the Huskies. Over 9.2 innings in seven appearances in 2011 he posted a 2.79 ERA and did not allow a home run over the course of the Huskie’s season. Marzi was a two time All-State honoree at Berlin High School in Connecticut and was also named to the All-Hartford Courant team prior to the start of his senior season in 2010. He is currently a pre-kinesiology major at Connecticut.
