In 2012 Foss was an indispensable part of the Corpus Christi pitching staff, serving as both a starter and a reliever. In his collegiate season this year he started 10 games for the Islanders, recording 65 strikeouts and a 5.10 ERA. Foss was granted a rare two years of sophomore eligibility after suffering a season-ending injury early at the start of his second season in 2010. After being allowed to redshirt, Foss returned to the mound in 2011 and made nine appearances for the Islanders. In his debut collegiate season in 2009 Foss made 14 appearances and posted a 10.38 ERA over 17.1 innings of work. The Janesville native was rated the number four prospect in Wisconsin by Perfect Game and was named All-State, All-Conference, and All-District his senior year at Craig High School in 2008.
