Brandon Johnson arrives in Alexandria following his sophomore season at one of the top programs in the country in Florida State. At Alonso High School in Tampa, Johnson went 5-1 with a 1.52 ERA his senior year. His team won the Florida Class 6A title during his junior year. He graduated with a weighted 5.8 GPA and was named the 2010 Chick-fil-A/Dick’s Sporting Goods Scholar Athlete of the Year. Johnson picked up his first collegiate win in a relief appearance against 15th ranked Stetson on March 20th. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings and notched a strikeout to get the W. Through 43 games, Johnson was 1-0 in nine relief appearances for the 36-7 and number one ranked Seminoles. Brandon’s older brother Sherman is the starting 3rd baseman for the Seminoles.
