Matt Beaty makes his way to Alexandria by way of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. As a senior at Dresden High School he recorded a .627 batting average, and led Dresden in batting average, home runs, and RBI’s all four of his varsity seasons. He was named to the Tennessee All-State Team three times. Beaty went 3 for 4 with a home run and five RBI in a 14 to 7 win over Southern Illinois on February 29th. He also hit a home run against East Tennessee State on March 17th. Through 44 games, Beaty was hitting .252 with 10 doubles, four home runs, and 33 RBI while recording a .993 fielding percentage. In high school, Beaty was Mr. Dresden High School and Student Council Vice President.
