The UCLA signee had an outstanding junior season for Mater Dei High School in 2011. He hit .510 with three home runs, 13 doubles, 37 RBI, 39 runs and a school-record 51 hits and was named the 2011 Orange County Player of the Year by the Orange County Register. The highly touted prep was ranked No. 215 in Perfect Game USA's list of the top 300 prospects eligible for the 2012 MLB Draft -- he was drafted by the New York Yankees organization in the 25th round. In Moore's senior year, he finished 12-1 on the mound with a 0.83 ERA and struck out 71 batters. At the plate, Moore batted .406 with 23 RBIs and three homers.
