Esquivel spent the entire 2010 and 2011 season with the Ducks. Last year, the 29-year-old posted a career-high .328 bating average swatting 15 home runs, driving in 69 runs and collecting 109 hits. In 2010 Esquivel lead the team in home runs (17), runs (85), hits (132), doubles (28), at-bats (469) and games played (127). He also posted career-highs in runs and walks (55). Over the past two seasons with the Ducks, Esquivel has combined for 32 home runs, 146 RBI and 50 doubles, while hitting .305.
The San Antonio, Texas native played six seasons in the Atlanta Braves organization prior to joining the Atlantic League, reaching as high as Double-A Mississippi. Esquivel was originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fifth round of the 2001 amateur entry draft.
