Mike Recchia enters his second season with the ThunderBolts and fourth as a professional in 2013. He was originally signed on January 4, 2012. Mike set the Frontier League record with 177 strikeouts in 2012 on his way to becoming the first ThunderBolt ever to win the Brian Tollberg Award given to the league's top pitcher. He signed with the Baltimore Orioles after the season but returned to Windy City. Recchia previously spent two seasons in the New York Yankees system, reaching Class A Charleston and going a combined 6-4 with a 3.37 ERA. In three years at Eastern Illinois, Mike went 16-9 with a 4.18 ERA in 50 games (32 starts). Before that, he attended Shepard High School in Palos Heights, Illinois.
