- Split the season in the Oakland Athletics system between Double-A Midland of the Texas League and Advanced-A Stockton of the California League.
- Combined to make 22 appearances, including 12 starts.
- Held opposing hitters to a .120 average when he got ahead in the count with Midland.
In 2010:
- Made 13 starts for Stockton and 14 starts for Advanced-A Salem of the Carolina League in the Boston Red Sox organization.
- Was traded by the Red Sox to the A's on June 27 for big leaguer Eric Patterson.
-Pitched a career-high 128.1 innings.
