Brad joins the Bluefish during his second season in the Atlantic League and eighth of professional baseball. The Santa Monica native began the 2012 campaign as a member of the Lancaster Barnstormers and finished the season in the Park City. With the ‘Fish, he batted .263 in 44 games.
The 29-year-old was originally drafted out of the University of Arizona in the 14th round of the 2005 draft by the San Francisco Giants. During his stint with the Giants from 2006-10, Boyer reached as high as Triple-A in 2010 with Fresno. With Fresno, he hit .210 in 46 games. His best year came while playing with San Jose in the California League in 2008, where he batted .348 with 42 runs scored and 92 hits in 72 games for the Single-A Giant’s team. In 2011, Boyer played his first campaign of Independent Baseball with Gary out of the American Association. In 87 games, he batted .348 had 21 doubles and knocked in a career high 68 RBI good enough for post season All-Star Honors. During his minor league career, Boyer holds a .279 batting average with 331 runs scored in 664 games played.
