Canham joins the Ducks after beginning the year at Triple-A Memphis in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He split time in 2011 with Double-A Midland and Triple-A Sacramento in the Athletics organization. The 27-year-old’s best season came in 2008 with Lake Elsinore where he posted a .285 batting average with 119 hits, 28 doubles, 81 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 113 games.
Overall, the Washington native has spent five seasons in professional baseball, reaching as high as Triple-A. The left-handed hitter currently holds a career batting average of .254 with 198 runs batted in and 371 hits in 410 minor league bouts. Canham was originally drafted by the San Diego Padres in the first round (57th overall) of the 2007 amateur draft.
