Eddie joins the 'Fish for his 14th year of professional baseball and second in the Atlantic League. He played 33 games for the Bluefish in 2009, posting a .299 batting average in 127 at-bats, while collecting eight extra-base hits, 12 RBI and five stolen bases. Following his impressive performance, the infielder had his contract purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks and reported to Triple-A Reno of the Pacific Coast League. He spent two seasons with Reno and recorded a personal-best 59 RBI in 2010 with a .282 batting average and 35 extra-base hits.
The 33-year-old made his big league debut in 2002 for the Baltimore Orioles. He spent parts of three seasons in the Majors, getting the call again in 2005 and tasting big league action for a final time the following season with Baltimore. The infielder’s best season came in 2002 when he batted .261 with 57 RBI and set career-highs in home runs (11) and extra-base hits (39) for Bowie (AA, Orioles) of the Eastern League.
Eddie was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Baltimore Orioles on November 7, 1997.
