Bare was one of the Navigators’ most consistent starters in 2011, going 2-2 with a 3.89 ERA in eight games. The Dallas native limited opposing hitters to a .224 average on the season, striking out 27 hitters in 37 innings pitched. His best outing of the year came in North Shore’s playoff game over Sanford on August 3, when he threw seven shutout innings and earned the win as the Navigators picked up an 8-0 victory.
In 2012 for Baylor, he made 16 relief appearances, limiting left-handed hitters to a .158 average and holding opponents scoreless in 11 outings while never allowing more than one hit in any of his appearances. He was voted 2012 first-team Academic All-Big 12 as well as being named to Big 12 Commissioners honor roll in Fall 2009, and both Spring and Fall 2011.
