Freddy Flores is a Columbia Falls, Montana native and begins his first season with the Diablos. The 6-0, 185 lbs right-hander began his professional career in 1997 with the Sioux City Explorers of the Northern League and moved on to the Chillicothe Paints of the Frontier League in 1998. He spent two years with the Richmond Roosters of the Frontier League in 1999 and 2000 before taking an eight year break to coach Division II softball at Western New Mexico University. Flores got the itch to return to the game as a player and signed on with the Atlantic City Surf of the Canadian-American Association for the 2008 season and the Brockton Rox of the Can-Am League for 2009 through 2011. In 2011, he compiled a 7-9 record with a 4.90 ERA in 19 games as a starter with one complete game shutout in 112.0 innings pitched. He has compiled a career batting average of .267, with his best season coming in 2000 when he hit .286/.385/.326 in 227 at bats with Richmond. He has spent time at all three outfield positions, shortstop, second base, and as a pitcher during his career.
