Zach Stone turned in one of the best freshman seasons in school history in 2011. He solidified third base with a reliable glove and run production at the plate. Stone led the PSAC in RBIs with 46 and led the team with a .434 on-base percentage. He had a total of 66 hits (fifth in the PSAC) and 15 walks. Stone ranked second in slugging percentage at .524, ranked third in the PSAC in doubles with 19, and ranked fifth in the PSAC with 46 runs scored. His batting average of .357 ranked second on the team and tied for 12th in the league.
Stone won the ABCA Atlantic Region Gold Glove with a .943 fielding percentage and 102 assists. He only committed four errors in the regular season. He was named Daktronics All-Atlantic Region Second Team, picked as PSAC East Player of the Week on April 4 – after going 7-for-14 with 10 RBIs in a four-game stretch.
