Matt was a Great Northwest Conference first-team all-star in 2012, his first season at WOU after transferring from Mt. Hood Community College. He hit .318, with four homers and 41 RBIs,
He was the Great Northwest Conference Player of the Week for March 5-11 after hitting .462 in four games, with six RBIs.
In 2011, Matt joined the Knights as a 10-day signee and eventually made the full-time roster as a outfielder with good range and an outstanding arm.
He hit .238 in 43 regular-season games, with 16 RBIs, and hit .368 (7-19) with three RBIs in the playoffs and in non-league games. He finished ast .258 overall in 50 games, with 19 RBIs aznd 15 stolen bases. Matt was a first-team NWAACC South Division All-Star in 2011 for Mt. Hood Community College. He also played for the Saints in 2010 after graduating from Clackamas High School. He transferred to Western Oregon for his junior year.
