Byan Frichter is a native of Meridan, Mississippi, who attended Southeastern Louisiana University. The 5-11, 200 lbs infielder began his professional career with the San Angelo Colts of the United League in 2008 and 2009 where, in 2008, he was the only rookie selected to the ULB All-Star Game after winning the league’s Rookie of the Year Award as a right fielder after hitting .349/.410/.564. In 2010, Frichter moved closer to home playing for the Shreveport-Bossier Captains and was named as an Honorable Mention in Baseball America’s top independent prospect list. Frichter split time in 2011 between the Captains and the Grand Prairie AirHogs and hit .221/.268/.327 with 22 runs, 48 hits, 11 doubles, four home runs, and 30 RBIs in 58 games. He has compiled a career stat line of .306/.371/.463 with 139 runs, 239 hits, including 55 doubles, five triples, 19 home runs, and 114 RBIs in 200 games over four seasons with a career fielding percentage of .950.
