Banks enters his first season with the Ducks and first in the Atlantic League. He spent four seasons (2007-2010) at the Major League level, splitting time with the Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres, and Houston Astros. In 27 games (19 starts), he posted a 4-8 record and threw 119.1 innings. During his 2008 campaign with the Padres, the righty did not allow an earned run in his first 22 innings pitched.
The Baltimore native is currently in his ninth season of professional baseball. He began the 2011 season with Triple-A Fresno in the San Francisco Giants organization, collecting a 5-6 record and 50 strikeouts in 19 games (12 starts). The 29-year-old was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the second round of the 2003 amateur entry draft.
