Danny got a lot of playing time as a freshman with Oregon in 2009 and hit .242 with 15 RBI and also swiped 4 bases for the Ducks. He was primarily a shortstop for Oregon, but can play second base as well if he is needed there this summer. In high school he had a monster senior season for Cypress (California) in 2008 when he hit .485 with three home runs and 24 stolen bases and was widely considered one of the best high school middle infielders on the entire west coast. Danny, despite being only a freshman, also brings a strong sense of leadership to the Honkers this summer and was a team captain all four years of high school. Three other Oregon players will join Danny on the Honkers 2009 roster: catcher Mitch Karraker and pitchers Riley Bevil and Scott McGough.
