The 2009 season got off to a hot start for Drew, but he was limited to just 17 games due to injury. He made the most of every game he did play, though, and piled up 22 RBI while hitting a stunning .407, including 5 doubles, 4 triples, 2 home runs and 3 stolen bases, in just 59 at-bats. He also made just a single error in over 100 chances. Last season he also made 17 starts, but appeared in 31 total games, and hit .260 with a pair of home runs. As a freshman in 2007 Drew earned 12 starts and went 11-for-34, including going 2-for-3 in his first career start. Drew has a sister, Alex, and his cousin, Steve Beuerlein, was an NFL quarterback for 14 years before retiring in 2003.
