Monzon spent the majority of the 2010 season with the Ducks, posting a .267 batting average along with 11 home runs, 56 RBI, and 17 stolen bases in 101 games. His efforts earned him a spot in the 2010 Atlantic League All-Star Game, played at the home of the Ducks.
The 29-year-old began the season playing his native Puerto Rico before returning to the Ducks. He spent the first six seasons of his career in the Seattle Mariners organization, reaching as high as Triple-A in 2006 and 2009. His best season came in 2005 with Single-A Inland Empire when he hit at .271 clip and slugged a career-high 13 homers in 94 games. Monzon played collegiate baseball at the University of Tampa and was originally drafted in the 29th round of the 1999 amateur entry draft by the Texas Rangers.
