Kyle Wilson began his baseball career when he was selected in the 22nd round of the 2004 amateur entry draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. His best year came in 2007 playing for Inland Empire of the California League. in 25 games, Wilson earned 14 saves with a staggeringly low ERA of 1.09. Wilson totaled 113 games in the minor leagues, reaching AA in 2008, while keeping his ERA at an impressive 3.28. Wilson took his talents to the independent Golden Baseball league where he split his time between the Victoria Seals and the Orange County Flyers. He ended the season on a tear after being moved to the Flyers; with a 2.08 ERA.
