2011 SEASON RECAP Deminsky, 24, was signed mid-season by the Beach Bums on June 29th and joined the starting rotation with his first start on July 2nd against the Florence Freedom. Deminsky finished the year with a 6-3 record while posting a 3.84 ERA. Deminsky’s 6-3, 205 lb frame helped tally 49 strikeouts in his 13 starts highlighted with a one run complete game leading Traverse City to a 7-1 win over the Normal Cornbelters on August 4th.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE Prior to joining the Beach Bums, Deminsky was drafted by the Minnesota Twins organization in the 44th round of the 2010 MLB June Amateur Draft. Deminsky spent the majority of his professional career in the Twins organization with the Gulf Coast League Rookie affiliate. He appeared in 10 games, eight starts, and finished with a 2.70 ERA in 53.1 IP. He featured a complete game and also averaged 8.6 SO/9IP in his time with the Twins.
A native of Sartell, Minnesota, Deminsky completed his collegiate baseball career at St. Cloud State University and put together an impressive senior campaign with an ERA of 3.16 and 107 strikeouts. As a Husky, he set the season record for strikeouts in 2010 as well as starts and innings pitched with 16 starts 99.2 innings respectively.
