Stermer, a junior transfer at the University of North Florida, will provide valuable left-handed depth on the Rafters pitching staff. The Florida native spent the ’09 and ’10 seasons at Palm Beach Community College where he helped capture a 2010 conference championship. Stermer hit .340 with 17 doubles, eight home runs and 60 RBI in his final season at PBCC. His performance at Wellington High School earned Stermer a selection to the Dick Howser All-Star game, of which he was named MVP.
