Podratz was a freshman this last year at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and is playing in his first season as a Honker this summer. The 5’11", 230-pound Temecula, CA native played in 45 games for the Rainbows and hit .258 with a team-high 5 long balls and 26 RBIs, good for second on the team. Podratz also led his team by getting hit by 12 pitches. The young catcher is a 2011 graduate of Chaparral High School where he was a three-time letter winner in baseball. In his junior season, Podratz was named First Team All-League and First Team All-State, and earned All-League honors his senior season.
