Matt Reida is entering his first year with the MoonDogs after finishing his freshman season at Kentucky. Reida played in 39 games for the Wildcats in 2011, posting a .216 batting average. The young freshman is still growing as a hitter but is advanced defensively, posting a .934 fielding percentage while committing only 8 errors this season. Matt comes from an athletic family. His brother played baseball at Wichita State and the University of Indiana, and is currently an assistant coach at West Virginia. His sister played basketball at Indiana State. Reida was selected by the White Sox in the 47th round in the 2010 MLB Draft.
