Career stats as a professional


O’Conner began his coaching career in the spring of 2011 as a volunteer assistant coach for his alma mater at Xavier University.


After his amateur career concluded in 2009, O’Conner signed as an undrafted free agent with the Texas Rangers organization and played for the Rangers’ rookie team in the Arizona League. In 2010, O’Connor was assigned to the Spokane Indians of the Northwest League before signing with the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League.


During his collegiate career O’Conner played his summer baseball in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League for the Cincinnati Steam. As a catcher for the Steam, O’Conner played for the Steam from 2006-08 and led the team to the GLSCL championship in 2008.


O’Conner played his final two collegiate seasons at Xavier University where he graduated in 2009 with business degree. During O’Conner’s career at Xavier, the Musketeers won the Atlantic-10 regular season title in 2008 and the A10 tournament championship in 2009. O’Connor earned a spot on the A10 championship team as the Musketeers advanced to the NCAA Tournament Houston Regional.

A catcher by trade, O’Conner began his collegiate career at Indiana University where he played two seasons for the Hoosiers.  In 2006, O’Conner started 28 games behind the plate in 38 appearances and also pitched four times in relief. In 2007, O’Connor was fourth on the team in batting average, hitting at a .310 clip. He also earned the Big Ten Scholar Athlete Award.

O’Conner, a 2005 graduate of Cincinnati’s Elder High School, won two state championships (baseball and football) his senior year.
