A two year Monogram winner and Captain at Notre Dame, returning player, Tommy Chase, brings a .242 batting average from the previous summer to the Seacoast Mavericks. The Red Shirt Junior started twenty-two games at Notre Dame this past Spring and scored thirteen runs as well as hit a game high of nine assists. Chase is considered “scrappy” on the field but is highly respected for his academic standings and recent achievements. This well recognized player was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District V Team which was made possible due to his athletic accomplishments and overall GPA of 3.581. Chase was also recognized this past year as one of five finalists for the 2012 Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup for which he was chosen out of 2500 other students across the country. Besides working hard in school and bringing it to the field, he also devotes a large amount of his time reaching out to others. Chase helped forefront the Fight for Tide program that aided tornado devastation in Alabama, works with the South Bend's LifeWorks Dream Team program, and is President of the Notre Dame Christian Athletes program which unites athletes of all religious affiliations.
