Currently, Morton is a freshman for Oakland University. He found major league attention after he was converted to catcher from the pitcher/outfield positions while attending Hudsonville High School.
At Hudsonville, Morton helped his team win a Division I regional championship by hitting .446 as a junior, while scoring 26 runs and driving in 17.
