Brad returns to the Bluefish for his second year in the Atlantic League and sixth of professional baseball. The lefthander began last season with the Bluefish and appeared in 15 games (three starts), posting a 2-1 record with a 2.70 ERA. He struck out 32 batters over the course of 36.2 innings pitched and held opposing hitters to a .218 batting average. After this impressive performance, Furnish had his contract purchased by the Chicago White Sox and would split time between Single-A Winston-Salem and Single-A Kannapolis.
The 27-year-old began his professional career in 2006 with State College (A, Cardinals) of the New York Penn League following a successful collegiate season at TCU. Furnish owns a 27-29 career minor league record with a 4.35 ERA and 415 strikeouts over the course of 533 innings of work.
Brad was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the second round of the 2006 amateur draft.
