Danny joins the Bluefish for his 10th season of professional baseball and first in the Atlantic League. Last year, the former Major Leaguer appeared in 128 games with the New Orleans Zephyrs (AAA) of the Florida Marlins organization. He compiled a .315 batting average with seven home runs, 50 RBI and 57 runs scored over the course of 467 at-bats. The 27-year-old made his first appearance at the Major League level in 2007 as a member of the Chicago White Sox. The infielder appeared in 56 games and batted .230 with six home runs, nine doubles, 15 RBI and 30 runs scored. The following season he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds with pitcher Nick Masset in exchange for Ken Griffey, Jr. After a brief stint in the minors, Richar would join the Reds later that year and make his final appearance with the big club in 2009. He has appeared in 79 contests over his Major League career. Danny was originally signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks as an undrafted free agent in 2001.
